My family and I are long time Ridgewood residents. This is my first time using Richter's Auto Service. I always had all of my vehicles serviced at the dealer. I brought my Honda CRV to repair an exhaust system noise. Dave W (owner-manager) was friendly and informative throughout the whole process. He and his service team quickly diagnosed the problem. He gave me a fair estimate. The work got completed by the afternoon as promised. I also asked about maintenance diagnostics that may require changing the spark plugs and possible leaks. He advised me to check when the major maintenance was last done at the dealer. I gave him that information when I picked up my vehicle. He told me that no additional work maintenance will be needed. His service technician did not see anything wrong. He assured me that it can be driven for long distance like several hundred miles. Dave projected honesty and confidence. That's remarkable in today's business environment. He gained me as a returning customer. Thanks, Dave and your service team!

Honest, helpful, and low wait time. I stop by there any time I have tire issues from tires losing air quickly to "my car's tires don't seem to be driving well". If there is something they can do to fix my problem, it's typically done quickly (I waited today to get 4 snow tires put onto my car - they estimated I'd be waiting an hour and it took exactly an hour from the time I came in with my car). They've also offered me honest advice that has resulted in loss of business for them - I've stopped by to buy new tires and complain about my minivan's horrible handling in bad weather but they advised me that my tires were actually fine and had months left in them before I truly needed to change them.

I brought my truck in for a oil leak. Dave took my truck right in and had his mechanic diagnosis the issue and found that the oil filter housing was loose and was causing the leak. The mechanic tightened the filter and cleaned the residual oil around the engine. The amazing part is I was in and out in less than a hour and that there was no charge for the work they did. Dave and his staff were trustworthy and offered great customer service. I will definitely go back again.

Dave was so helpful with my used car I just bought. Shortly after buying my jeeps lights came on the radiator was leaking and I was in a panic. I called and Dave said bring it buy I'll check it out. Thanks to our hometown service center Richters has “that’s what we are here for” attitude making anytime of day or night the place to drop off your vehicle. Chris did a great job on my 2001 Volvo. He thought that I needed a new motor for my broken driver window & I had agreed to pay the cost. But, turned out to be a loose connection. I appreciate his honesty. His routine service includes checking the air in all tires including the spare. I think that is great! Last year, when I got a flat, my spare was also flat, because it had no air.

I never trust anybody with car maintenance because most people in the business are dishonest. But I’m writing a review about Richter's because they are pros. I get an hinest assessment every time and I’m not getting shaken down for unnecessary work. It’s a pleasure doing business with them.

Workmanship has been spot-on, and they accommodate you as quickly as possible. Fixed a leaky coolant problem, and months later cured my non-functioning air conditioner. May not be the least-expensive shop, but for all-round performance, Richter’s is hard to beat!

I am from the Boston Area and was visiting when my check engine light went on. Having a long ride home I wanted to feel safe with the car. I called the local Volvo dealer and they couldn’t see me for several days. I found Richters on line. Car was towed there. Needed a place close to work and the towing company recommended it. I believe I spoke with Chris who was at the front desk. VERY helpful and explained things well. He was able to find the part my car needed by making several phone calls.

Great Service,... Had car die on me over night and needed a tow, insurance company towed to Richter, Part ordered and repaired in 1 day but had no problem holding on to car til the following afternoon when i had time to grab it. Turns out this whole ordeal killed my battery and when he looked at it he noticed it was the wrong battery for my car. so instead of just giving me a jump and sending me on my way like many places would he had a spare battery ( of the proper size) he gave me at no charge. This all happened after i had already paid.. Cant recompensed these guys enough. Abosulutly great service

Needed an oil change for two cars asap as we were heading out on an extensive road trip. Chris got the cars in the very next morning. No fuss, no muss. Reasonably priced, very convenient and great service. I know if I had really needed same day service, they would have accommodated me.

There is not enough that I could say. I think that Richter is a wonderful man. I'm a single mom and I feel safe bringing my car there. I feel safe bringing my car home. They're great mechanics and no matter what, I can pull in there if I have a light and I don't know what it means and they will stop what they're doing and help me.

They're great. I'll go up there and the battery will be dead. They'll come pick up my car, jump it, take it there, and charge the battery. It's great. They're helpful. They're always there and they always seem to know what's wrong with the car.
